TEAM EQUIPMENT - REQUIRED (all required equipment must be shown at check in):
- 2 flashlights or headlamps, extra batteries; from sunset to sunrise, runners must carry a lighted flashlight or wear a headlamp when the active runner.
- 5 reflective vests (minimum) , not only is the current runner required to wear a reflective vest from sunset to sunrise, all members of the Active Van (including non-running driver if applicable) must be wearing a reflective vest when ever exiting the Active Van
- 2 flashing red LED lights - one required to be worn on the runner's back from sunset to sunrise
- "CAUTION-RUNNER ON ROAD" (minimum 17 x 22 inches) to be attached to the rear of each team vehicle. These can be hand made but they must be legible
- One First Aid kit for blisters, abrasions, etc. for each team vehicle
- One Trash bag for each team vehicle
- One copy of both the Relay Handbook and the Leg Map Book for each team vehicle
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT FOR THE TRAIL LEGS 8, 9, 10, 11 - not required to be shown at check in:
- As is it hunting season, runners of the trail legs are required to wear bright colored vests or clothing; reflective belts do not qualify.
- Hydration system or water bottle
- Trail Leg Map
- Additional equipment required for Leg 11 over Georgia Pass: hat, jacket, gloves, and headlamp. Pants are recommended but not required.
TEAM EQUIPMENT - STRONGLY RECOMMENED - not required to be shown at check in:
- Hand Sanitizer
- Disinfectant Wipes
- Clipboard for Team Time Record
- Vehicle registration and insurance
- Watch/stopwatch for clipboard with Team Time Record
- Water, electrolyte/sports drinks, food since there are no aid stations
TEAM EQUIPMENT - RECOMMENDED FOR EACH VEHICLE - not required to be shown at check in:
- Cooler with ice
- Food, drinks
- Maps
- Markers, pens, pencils, paper
- Cell phones, 2-way radios
- Tape for vehicle signs
- Toilet paper, wet wipes, paper towels, cups
RUNNER EQUIPMENT - RECOMMENDED - not required to be shown at check in:
- Additional blinking red light for extra safety
- Bear bells and/or pepper spray if nervous about animals
- Bandanna for dusty roads
- Camera
- Driver license, ID required for "Masters" competitive teams
- Flashlight or headlamp, 2 per team required, but many runners bring their own
- Food, drinks
- Foot-care aids
- Hat or visor to reduce glare of headlights
- Money, credit card
- Plastic bags for wet clothes, icing injuries, trash
- Protective aids: pepper spray, phone, whistle
- Reflective and warm clothing; Legs 18-20 may be cold
- Rain gear - you never know in the mountains of Colorado or Vermont
- Running shoes, shirts, shorts, socks - a clean set for each leg
- Shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, towel
- Sleeping bag, sleeping pad, ground cloth/tent
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
- Vaseline or Anti Chafe
- Water bottle
****Maximum two vehicles for 10-person teams, one vehicle only for Ultra teams (maximum 6.5 x 19 feet) ; No buses, campers, limousines, trailers, motor homes, or extra vehicles
